Arunachal: In run-up to 36-hour bandh, Itanagar turns into fortress

Several establishments in & around Itanagar allotted to police to be used by them in view of 36-hr bandh called by All Nyishi Youth Association on Aug 27-28

Itanagar: Several establishments, including schools, badminton courts and government offices, in and around Itanagar have been alloted to the Capital Complex Superintendent of Police (SP). 

An order from the Capital Complex deputy commissioner, Komkar Dulom, recently said that these buildings will be used by the police personnel in view of the 36 hours' bandh called by All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) on August 27-28. 

The buildings which have been allotted to police personnel include Government Higher Secondary School at ESS sector; Government Higher Secondary School, Arunodaya; Government Higher Secondary School at Ganga; Vidyut Bhawan at Zero Point; Banquet Hall; Badminton Hall at Raj Bhawan and BPL building at Gohpur in Itanagar; and Government Middle School ; Government Higher Secondary School at Kankarnallah; Municipal Office and Scout & Guide building in Naharlagun. 

The Interstate Bus Terminus at Lekhi and truck terminal at Lekhi in Nirjuli area have also been allotted to the police, said the order. 

ANYA hasdeclared a 36-hour Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) bandh from August 27 to 28 demanding the resignation of chief minister Pema Khandu for his alleged failure in governing the state.
