Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh reported its fifth COVID-19 case after a 26-year-old, who recently returned to the state from Chennai, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
The patient is from Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh and is reportedly asymptomatic. Contact tracing has begun.
Confirming the case, Namsai MLA Zignu Namchoom said, “The patient will be kept in isolation under medical observation at Namsai.”
With the new case, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state rises to four. Earlier in April, the first COVID-19 patient from Tezu in Lohit district was discharged from hospital after he recovered.
