Good samaritans distribute hand sanitisers, masks and gloves to police personnel and others who are at the frontline in the battle against coronavirus
West Siang: Meet Rimmo Lollen from Aalo, West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Founder of Divine Child Health and Education, Lollen has been into social work for 6 years.
Lollen took upon himself to equip police personnel with protective gear. Most of them were doing their duty without masks, gloves or hand sanitisers.
“It's saddening to hear from the police personal on duty that they don’t have any hand sanitiser, mask and gloves provided to them by the government which is an essential commodity at this hour,” said Lollen.
Luckily, Lollen was among the few who were able to stock up on sanitisers and masks from Dibrugarh before they ran out of stock. “So during this Covid-19 outbreak we decided to donate hand sanitisers, cotton, masks, and refreshments to every police post at Pasighat and we have been successful,” said Lollen. They have even distributed the much-required essentials to the nearby colonies and villages in other districts as well.
Despite the 21-day-lock down front-line workers like the doctors, police personnel, armed forces, bankers, cleaning staff, are still going out every day to make sure that our lives are comfortable.
This is not the first time that Lollen has come out to help. “During the Assam flood of 2019 we have donated more than 2,500 articles of clothing to the needy, we also distributed clothes to the underprivileged in every district of Arunachal Pradesh,” he added.
We salute the dedication and compassion of Rimmo Lollen and his NGO, Divine Child Health and Education, a true CoronaFighter indeed.
