Close on heels of arrest of 3 staffers of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Sher in Papumpare, 4 students charged under Juvenile Justice Act over Ngurang Paro’s death
Itanagar: Four students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Sher in Papumpare district of Arunachal Pradesh have been detained and charged under the Juvenile Justice Act in connection with the death of Class VI student Ngurang Paro.
The students have been sent to the juvenile home in Pasighat in East Siang district as of now and will be produced before the Juvenile Court in connection with the case, informed Papumpare SP Jimmy Cheram.
Previously, after registering a case at Kimin Police Station, three officials of the school were arrested. They included school principal Lalu MR, hostel warden Robin Thakuri and Biju Chendli. All three have been remanded to judicial custody, said Cheram.
Meanwhile, the school has been shut down indefinitely and the police are “just a few steps away from cracking the case”, Cheram added.
Meanwhile, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Arunachal Pradesh Trust (VKVAPT) in a message has condoled the untimely demise of student Ngurang Paro, who was a student of Class VI in VKV Sher.
The boy was found dead in the bathroom of the hostel at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya in the Sher area near Kimin town on Friday evening. Officials investigating the case said bullying could have been one of the reasons behind the boy’s death.
