All cinema halls, night clubs & weekly bazaars to be closed for 3 weeks starting tomorrow; educational institutions to be shut down till April 5 amid coronavirus scare
Itanagar: Taking cue from other states of the country, Arunachal Pradesh government has announced several measures to counter the growing threat of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) in the state.
The state has decided to shut down all cinema halls, night clubs and weekly bazaars for the next three weeks from March 17 while directives have also been issued that all schools and educational institutions shall be closed till April 5.
Board and final examinations will, however, be carried out as per schedule.
A notification issued by chief secretary Naresh Kumar on Monday also appealed the people to avoid any gathering, congregations or conferences may it be social, cultural, political or religious while directions have also been given to the owners of shopping malls to disinfected their establishments on a daily basis.
All deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of the state have been asked to ensure the strict compliance of the order.
Furthermore, chief secretary Kumar in a separate letter to the deputy resident commissioners of New Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and Shillong and to the regional transport officers of New Delhi and Mohanbari, Assam have directed to suspend the issuance of new Inner Line Permits till further notice.
