Tinsukia: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) has filed chargesheet against four accused, who were arrested for hatching a terrorist plot and killing Khonsa MLA Tirong Aboh, before the NIA Special Court in Yupia in Arunachal Pradesh.

The accused has been identified as Luckin Mashangva, Jai Kishan Sharma, Yangte Josaham and Napong Jenpi alias Jenpi.

In a press statement, the agency said, investigation has established that members of NSCN (IM) conspired to commit the terrorist act of killing of Aboh and 10 others.

“It was revealed that a group led by self-styled major general Absolom of NSCN(IM), who is an absconding, along with three militants of the outfit - Mashangva, Josaham and Jenpi - formed a core group and were financed by Sharma to execute the terrorist act.”

“They had on an earlier occasion threatened Aboh and his supporters for their opposition to criminal activities of NSCN (IM),”read the statement.

On May 21 last year, the members of this group laid an ambush on the convoy of Khonsa MLA near Pansum Thong village in Tirap district. In the deadly attack, Aboh died along with 10 others, while three sustained injuries.

The NIA said, “The terrorist act was a part of larger conspiracy due to opposition of Aboh to the anti-development and extortion activities of NSCN (IM) in Tirap district.”

NIA had re-registered the case on June 10 last year under section 120B, 302, 307 & 34 of IPC & 25 (1B) (a) and 27 of Arms Act and Sections16, 18 and 20 of UA (P) Act.
