AN-32 crash: Arunachal governor, CM condole death of air warriors

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra and chief minister Pema Khandu on Thursday conveyed their condolences to the family members of the 13 air warriors who lost their lives in the AN-32 aircraft crash in Arunachal Pradesh on June 3.

In his condolence letter to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa, the governor said that it was with deep sorrow and grief that he has learnt of the sad findings about the aircraft.

He said that the ground report of the recce and rescue team of Indian Air Force (IAF), which had reached the AN-32 crash site on Thursday and confirmed that there were no survivors, is extremely and emotionally excruciating.

“In this hour of crisis, my thoughts go to all the 13 great air warriors of the Indian Air Force who lost their lives in this unfortunate plane crash. It is a great national loss and we, as a nation, have suffered great setback to have lost these 13 capable combat patriots,” the governor said, while stating that every citizen of the state of Arunachal Pradesh stands in support of the families of the martyrs.

“May Almighty grant fortitude to the families of these martyrs to bear this irreparable loss. We pray for the eternal peace for the departed souls,” the governor added.

CM Khandu conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of the brave air warriors.

The slightest hope of survivors of the ill-fated aircraft ended on Thursday when the mountaineers’ team that were airdropped near the crash site confirmed that were no survivors of the accident.

“I am shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives of our brave air warriors who attained martyrdom in the line of their duties,” said the chief minister in his condolence message.

“While I express my solidarity to the Indian Air Force for loss of their men and officers, I call them true patriots as they laid their lives for the cause of our motherland. I pay my rich tribute to the brave soldiers and true sons of the soil. In this hour of grief, I express my heartfelt and sincere condolences to the bereaved family members,” the message further said.
